  • In 2006, 70.1 percent of all adults arrested were white, 27.6 percent were black, and the remaining percentage was of other races.
  • Of all juveniles (individuals under the age of 18) arrested in 2006 in the Nation, 67.1 percent were white, 30.3 percent were black, and the remainder were of other races.
  • Nearly 61 percent (60.8) of all adults arrested for violent crimes in 2006 were white; 68.9 percent of all adults arrested for property crimes in 2006 were white.
  • Arrests of adults for murder were nearly equal between white and black arrestees, with 50.0 percent being black, and 47.7 percent being white.
  • Fifty-one percent of juveniles arrested for violent crimes were black. Slightly more than 66 percent (66.3) of juveniles arrested for property crimes were white.
  • Nearly 94 percent (93.7) of juveniles arrested for driving under the influence were white.
  • Slightly more than 79 percent (79.2) of juveniles arrested for arson were white.
