The Chairman will open the meeting with brief opening remarks, outline the topics to be discussed, and indicate several items of interest.
2) 8:40 - 9:40 A.M. ACNW Planning and Procedures (Open) (GMH/ALL)
The Committee will discuss the items noted below.
    2.1) Commitments from the ACNW 132nd meeting
2.2) Issues for the 133rd ACNW meeting
2.3) Topics for April 2002 ACNW meeting
2.4) Topics for June 2002 meeting in Nevada
2.5) Potential Working Group/Workshop Topics
2.6) EDO responses to Committee reports
2.7) EDO's list of future meeting topics
2.8) ACNW Calendar for 2002
2.9) DOE/BSC Meeting Status

3) 10:00 - 12:30 P.M. Update on DOE Performance Assessment Program (BJG/MPL)
The Committee will hear a presentation by the representative from DOE on its recent performance assessment program activities for the proposed repository at Yucca Mountain, NV.

4) 2:00 - 3:30 P.M. Annual Research Report to the Commission (Open) (GMH/RPS)
The Committee will finalize its annual research report to the Commission.

5) 3:45 - 6:00P.M. Preparation for Meeting with the NRC Commissioners (Open)
(ALL)
The next meeting with the NRC Commissioners is scheduled to be held at 9:30 a.m. in the Commissioners' Conference Room, One White Flint North on March 20, 2002. The Committee will review its proposed presentations.

Discussion of topics scheduled for the ACNW meeting with the NRC Commissioners at 9:30 a.m.

The Committee will meet with the NRC Commissioners in the Commissioners' Conference Room, One White Flint North to discuss the following:

8.2) Total System Performance Assessment-Site Recommendation (BJG/LSH)
8.3) Key Technical Issues (GMH/RKM/LFD)
8.4) Review of NRC-Sponsored Research (RGW/RPS)

The staff will provide an update on its sensitivity studies related to HLW performance assessment analyses for the proposed repository at Yucca Mountain, NV.

11) 8:30 -8:35 A.M. Opening Statement by the ACNW Chairman (Open)

The Chairman will make opening remarks regarding the conduct of today's sessions.
12) 8:35 - 12:00 Noon Yucca Mountain Review Plan, Revision 2 (Open)
(10:10-10:30 A.M. BREAK) (GMH/RKM)
Briefing by and discussions with representatives of the NRC staff regarding the Yucca Mountain Review Plan, Revision 2.
   12:00 - 1:00 P.M.

13) 1:00 - 4:00 P.M. Preparation of ACNW Reports (Open)
Discussion of proposed ACNW reports on:
13.1) ACNW 2002 Action Plan (GMH/LFD)

The Committee will discuss matters related to the conduct of Committee activities and matters and specific issues that were not completed during previous meetings, as time and availability of information permit.

NOTE:

  • Presentation time should not exceed 50 percent of the total time allocated for a specific item. The remaining 50 percent of the time is reserved for discussion.
  • Thirty-Five (35) copies of the presentation materials should be provided to the ACNW.
    ACNW meeting schedules are subject to change. Presentations may be canceled or rescheduled to another day. If such a change would result in significant inconvenience or hardship, be sure to verify the schedule with Mr. Howard Larson at 301-415-6805 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., several days prior to the meeting.
  • Members may be excused from time-to-time to interview candidates for the vacant ACNW member position.
