NANTY GLO PA., CRACK DEALER SENTENCED TO LENGTHY PRISON TERM

United States Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan announced today, June 4, 2008, that George Montgomery, a resident of Nanty Glo, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court in Johnstown to 262 months imprisonment and five years supervised release on his conviction of violating federal narcotics laws.

United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson imposed sentence on Montgomery, age 31.

According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Stephanie L. Haines, on September 18, 2006, Montgomery possessed with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of cocaine base, commonly known as "crack."

Ms. Buchanan commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Laurel Highlands Resident Agency, and the Cambria County Drug Task Force for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Montgomery.
