Minnesota 2002 Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) Summary
2002 Accomplishments
- Funded 340 applications that allocated $9.26 million to agricultural
producers. The 2002 Farm Bill doubled Minnesota's EQIP allotment in Fiscal
Year 2002.
- Allocated $1.6 million to help farmers convert to organic farming.
Approved incentive payments on 32,819 acres of cropland and 2,212 acres
converted to livestock production.
- Trained NRCS and conservation partnership employees on ways to better
serve organic producers and producers interested in converting to organic
livestock and crop farming.
