First Stars III

Conference Program

All talks will be held in the ballroom on the second floor of the La Fonda hotel. Posters will also be in the ballroom. The reception (Sunday) and the banquet (Thursday) will be held at La Terraza, which is on the third floor of the La Fonda hotel. A continental breakfast will be provided every morning outside of the ballroom. Conference participants are on their own for lunch - please consult Salman Habib's restaurant listing or ask one of the conference organizers for lunch suggestions. Wednesday afternoon will be free - consult the activities page or one of the local organizers for suggestions.

Talk format: Each morning and afternoon session will be a combination of "review," "directed," and "contributed" talks, all organized around a particular subject (if at all possible). The review talks will be 30 minutes long and will be followed by 15 minutes of questions and discussion. The "directed" talks will be 20 minutes long and will be followed by 10 minutes of questions/discussion, and contributed talks will be 10 or 15 minutes long with 5 minutes of questions/discussion. PDF or powerpoint versions of all talks will be posted after the talk takes place.

Poster information: All posters will be displayed in the ballroom. They can be set up on Sunday during the reception or Monday morning during registration. Posters must be taken down by 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Due to limited space, we request that posters be no more than 36 inches wide by 44 inches high. Participants will be asked to provide a pdf or postscript version of their poster.
