ANNUAL ALLIANCE REPORT January 11, 2005 |
||||||||||||
I. Alliance Background Date Signed September 25, 2003 Overview The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Independent Quality Alliance (IQA) , and the PA/OSHA Consultation Program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (PA/OSHA Consultation), have aligned to provide information, guidance and access to training resources that will help them protect employees’ health and safety, particularly in reducing and preventing exposure to the hazards associated with heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, air purification and restoration and safe motor vehicle operation. Implementation Team Members
Contributors Other members of the Independent Quality Alliance serve as contributors. The companies include: Air Care & Restoration Co., Inc., Dieter Brothers Heating, Cooling, & Security, Durnin Inc., Edwin Stipe Inc., Fogel’s Fuel Service, Lande Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc., and Trexler Haines Inc. Evaluation Period September 25, 2003 until November 25, 2004. II. Implementation Team Meetings
III. Events and Products Training and Education
As a result of the numerous implementation team meetings and after the recordkeeping training session was held with the Human Resource/Office Managers/Comptrollers of the various companies, the implementation team members have begun an evaluation of the OSHA logs and have identified the leading causes of injuries to it’s members. Various parameters are being evaluated, including but not limited to the type of injury, the time of year the injury occurred, the job classification of the employee injured, and the body part affected.
V. Upcoming Milestones It was identified during the numerous implementation team meetings that most of the members do not have a formalized safety and health program. This “program” has become a major focus of the Alliance members and the implementation team and will be the product that this “alliance” will most diligently begin development. It is strongly recommended that this Alliance continue to aid these employers in improving their safety and health programs and reduce their injuries. |
