Golden Gate University (GGU) in San Francisco, California is one of the most affordable private universities in the United States. Founded in 1901, and regionally accredited by WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges), GGU has produced nearly 60,000 graduates seeking career advancement in business, technology, taxation or law.

Graduate and undergraduate degrees include business administration (MBA), finance, marketing, human resource management, applied psychology, computer information systems, database development and administration, digital security, software engineering, telecommunications management, and web design and development. Many programs are also available on-line.

GGU’s special Bridge Program allows three-year degree holders to pursue graduate studies without having to complete a four-year bachelor's degree. Applicants are admitted to graduate degree programs on condition that they complete our 24-unit (two-trimester) preparatory program before beginning graduate courses.

GGU provides a unique combination of theoretical studies and hands-on, professional-practice. Many professors bring on-the-job insight directly to class, because, outside of class, they also work as CEOs, directors, vice presidents, entrepreneurs, consultants, partners and managers at companies of all sizes.

GGU students are also a valuable resource of insight and information—about 70 percent continue to work while attending school, allowing fellow students to establish an international network of professional contacts. Students graduating in 2001 reported salary increases of up to 100 percent or more as a result of their GGU education. International student support services include orientation and adjustment assistance, academic and immigration advising, career planning and placement, internship and cooperative-education programs, personal counseling, health-insurance, and superior research facilities.

The Best 201 Colleges for the Real World rated GGU as “exceptional” or “very good” in meeting student needs, total college experience and contributing to students’ career development. California Cooperative Education and Internship Association has named GGU’s internship program “Outstanding Program of the Year” for four-year colleges.
