Where to place your pictures:
- The root directory on the server is
S:/WDMACS/PIC/CDFMCS/ (Be sure to mount the server as the S:
drive). You'll either find a subdirectory for
your system here or you will need to create one (contact Sam
Segler, Margherita Vittone Wiersma, or Mike Kirk for help). You
should place all of the system pictures in this directory. It is
helpful to create a mirror directory path on your C:/ drive on
your local PC. If you need a user account on the server in order to copy
pictures, see Sam Segler or Bill Noe. Having a mirror directory on your
local PC will enable you to toggle the source of
pictures when you run Fix between the server and your local PC
without changing the picture path. In addition, you can then
edit the pictures in your /subsystem/ directory and copy the
whole directory to the server when you have checked the
modifications. This will ensure that pictures on the server are
always available for other users to view.
Where to place your tag group files
- A 'new' feature of Fix Dynamics 2.1 is the requirement
that all tag group definition files be placed in the picture
path. Thus, all TGD files should be placed in the root
directory on the server S:/WDMACS/PIC/CDFMCS/.
How to make global variables work
- Global variables need to be defined in the user.fxg file
that resides in your picture path directory. Thus the user.fxg
file that resides in the root directory of the server needs to
contain all global variable definitions. The only way to do
this (Intellution is apparently aware of the inconvenience and is
working on a solution to allow the merging of user.fxg files) is
to point your picture path to the server, then from the system
tree in the Workspace define the variables that are used in your
pictures. To ensure that you can view other subsystem pictures,
be sure to copy the user.fxg file to your root picture directory on the
C: drive after adding your variables.
