Dear US EPA,

Please do not issue the permit for this facility until you have
carried out the EPA's basic responsibilities under the law to
protect human health and the environment from this proposed coal
plant.

Your review of the Desert Rock facility has failed to address
harmful global warming and mercury emissions from the proposed
facility, and it has not adequately considered clean energy
alternatives.

Numerous clean energy alternatives to the proposed plant would
better protect human health and the environment by avoiding the
harmful emissions associated with the proposed Desert Rock
facility. The Four Corners region is blessed with enormous clean
energy resources. By utilizing those resources we can meet
energy demand in the region without further burdening air
quality with another coal plant.
