Title: FVM, Fhgfs, GraPA, xenBEE, and the CBE

Abstract:

This talk is not about simulation, but about tools and components
that support high performance computing. I will talk about a new
parallel file system (Fhgfs), about the Fraunhofer Virtual Machine
(FVM), which is going to replace MPI in some applications, and about
the Graph Parallel Architecture ( GraPA). This is related to our work
with the Cell Broadband Engine (CBE). I will conclude my talk with some
thoughts about the future of the CPU market and will mention the XEN
Basic Execution Environment (xenBEE).

Sponsor of Seminar: Horst Simon
