REP. ANDREWS WORKS TO OBTAIN GRANT FUNDING
TO PRESERVE OPEN SPACE AND PROTECT WATERSHED
October 20, 2003

On Monday, October 20, 2003, I received word from the National Fish and Wildlife Association that Haddon Township's Environmental Commission would receive a $25,000 grant.  The grant, which was provided through the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation's Delaware Estuary grant program will be used to restore the Macarthur Tract and facilitate the restoration goals for the Delaware Bay and watershed.

I am very pleased to have been able to offer my support for this worthwhile proposal since preserving open space is a key issue for us in South Jersey.  I commend the township leaders for their efforts to work to contribute to this effort by aggressively pursuing federal funding for this purpose. I look forward to working with other community leaders in South Jersey to pursue similar funding for the preservation of remaining open spaces and for the protection of our watershed.
