CCSDS Meetings - Spring 2002 - Logistics - DLR Hosted by DLR in cooperation with CCSDS and ISO How to go to DLR and the hotels from the airport Basic information on access is below. Additional information can be obtained from the DLR Columbus Homepage at: http://www2.gsoc.dlr.de/columbus/ By car DLR is located west of Munich and can be reached via the Autobahn (highway) towards Lindau. Ask the rental car agency for the best way to drive but in general when going from the airport drive towards downtown Munich but follow the blue 'Lindau' signs. On the Autobahn Lindau westwards use exit 'Oberpfaffenhofen' (appr. 15 miles from downtown Munich). At the exit follow the DLR signs. The hotel in Herrsching can be reached but using the same exit 'Oberpfaffenhofen', passing by DLR and driving until Herrsching. The hotel is on the lake Ammer. All hotels in Germering can be reached via exit 'Germering' on the Autobahn Lindau, half ways between Munich and the exit Oberpfaffenhofen. By Taxi Since the airport is far away from Munich and DLR, taxi costs are expensive, e.g.: taxi to downtown Munich is appr. 50 Euro and to DLR appr. 75 Euro. By Sub-way (S-Bahn) Take the S-8 which goes every 20 minutes from the airport to downtown Munich (driving time 45 minutes) and change to the S-5 on the same platform of one of the stations downtown (e.g. Marienplatz, Hauptbahnhof). DLR and hotels Seehof and Huber are located close to the S-5 line which goes every 20 minutes between Munich downtown via Germering to Herrsching and back. The other hotels in Germering need taxi support to/from the Germering S-Bahn station. DLR is located between the S-Bahn stations Neugilching and Wessling. >From both stations it is an approximate 20 minute walk to the DLR gate (no taxi available).
