Current Information about Dora: I am now a Network Engineer. I support the
Earth Observing System (EOS), Mission to Planet Earth project under a program
called the NASA Research and Education Network (NREN). NREN's existing high
performance network is the conerstone for NASA's collaboration in the Next
Generation Internet (NGI). The Earth observing system is interested in NREN's
advance networking technology because NREN is developing testbeds that can
test and run their advance networking applications today. NREN provides
a testbed for both advanced network research and science applications research,
which fits great with EOS's goals. I basically take EOS's requirements and
fit them into NREN's architecture. It is exciting to be part of a project
that is developing advance technology today. With the way things are going
at NASA , industy and academia will soon be part of a new high speed and

My meetings usually consist of new requirements coming in for the project.
We usually talk about different ways that we can accomodate our scientist
or proffessors that are requesting to get on NASA's Reserach and Education
Network.

Yo hice un intern con Hewlett Packard cuando estaba en high school y conoci
muchos ingienerios y gente que estaba en diferentes tipos de ciencias
y me intereso mucho.

No. But it is definetly every NASA engineer's dream. So if I was ever
offered a chance, I would take it.

They are my pride and joy and I live only 20 minutes away from them so
I try to have dinner with them at least 3 to 4 times a week.

By the year 2000, I plan to have my masters in Telecomunications .

Esto es muy cierto. Siempre vamos ha tener obstaculos en la vida por eso
es bueno ponerese uno mismo metas y cumplirlas. Recuerda que nunca es
muy tarde para estudiar y aprender.

Fui a la universidad de San Jose State por 5 anos y tambien he tenido
varios cursos y la area de telecommunicaciones pos medio de el trabajo.
Creo que he tenido una buena combinacion.

to become a NASA k-12 technical Assistant?
When I first started as an intern, I had the opportunity to work on various
projects like the Antarctica and K-12 project and I have to say that the
most rewarding experience has been the K-12 project. Working with students
like yourself makes me feel that I'm making a difference in the community
and I can totally relate to student's experiences since a few years ago
I was a student as well.

I have been with NASA for 4 years. I started as an intern and about a
year and a half I was offered a position as a network engineer.

I went to San Jose State for 5 years and have taken various telecommunication
