LBNL RUNAROUND COMMITTEE INSTRUCTIONS:
FINISHER CARD DISTRIBUTION

(last updated 1999.09.24)

TEAM MEMBERS:

In addition to the chairman, three members are needed for a total of 4 team
members:
One to hand out the cards
One to fan the cards and rotate handing out the cards
One to take rubber band off cards (sorted by 10) and hand them in numerical
order to the person fanning the cards
One to keep runners moving to the pencil table and answer questions.

BEFORE THE RUN:

Get account number from EAA coordinator. Put in request to Word Processing
(Jean Wolslegel X5678) to run the originals of the 1000 cards. Ask
Printing (Faye Jobes X6787) to print them on white index stock. These are
run 4 to a page. Sort the cut cards numerically by hand. Rubber band them
in groups of 10. Place them in boxes in numerical order. Take them to the
Runaround finish area by 11:30 a.m."

DAY OF THE RUN:

Arrive at the finish line at 11:30

Stack cards on a nearby table. Fan them as you take them out.

Work as a pair. As one is handing out cards to runners in the finishing chute between the finish line and the end of the chute, the other is getting the next numbered set of 10. The cards must be handed out in strict numerical sequence, so only one can hand out cards at a time. Don't let the runners leave the finishing chute before they have a card. If for some reason a runner will not accept a card, fold it over and stick it in your pocket. The computer timer operators have almost certainly given that runner a time and finishing place on the computer and we want the card number to correspond. You can use a rubber finger to help fan the cards.

AFTER THE RUN:

Give leftover and folded cards to course coordinator
