Border Patrol Agents Seize More than a Ton of Marijuana

contacts for this news releaseRio Grande City, Texas - Rio Grande City Border Patrol agents conducting line-watch operations in Starr County, Texas, seized more than 2,000 pounds of marijuana, valued at $1,780,000.00.On Monday, agents conducting line watch operations in Starr County encountered a suspicious vehicle in Los Barrerras, Texas. Upon identifying themselves as Border Patrol agents, the driver of the vehicle absconded to Mexico leaving behind a white van loaded with 2,225 pounds of marijuana.The Drug Enforcement Administration assumed custody of the narcotics.
