EDRI Federal Project Inventory:
Serum Dioxin Levels and Serum Testosterone, FSH and LH Levels in the Agent Orange Validation Study
- Sponsor Organization: NATIONAL CENTER FOR ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
- Project Title: SERUM DIOXIN LEVELS AND SERUM TESTOSTERONE, FSH AND LH LEVELS IN THE
AGENTORANGE VALIDATION STUDY
- Project Focus: HUMAN HEALTH EFFECTS, EXPOSURE ASSESSMENT
- Description: Serum dioxin and testosterone, FSH and LH were measured in a subset
ofapproximately 750 of the participants in the Agent Orange Validation
Study comprisedof Vietnam and non-Vietnam veterans. Previous studies
have reported a negativeassociation of dioxin with testosterone levels
and a positive association with FSH andLH. This project makes use of
existing data to assess these relationships. Otherrelated analyses of
the data from the Agent Orange Validation Study and the
VietnamExperience Study are under consideration.
