Fwd: Gain fro the new HV settings

Dear all,

using old and new numbers and new measurements:

mod 3300 3400  3500    var.   G(var)
=============================
en1 1723  2990  6038   3475  dis
en2 1028  1677  3778   3550  5971
en3 1095  1766  3849   3550  6038
en4  939  1540  3249   3575   5367
en5  667   791  1218   3600   3213

es1 1684  2825  6356  3475  6278
es2 1042  5028  ????   3500
es3  734   943  1589    3600  2719
es4  569   501   636     3600 1243
------------------

interesting to note that most gains came out higher then expected. may
be it is a pressure or some other systematic change.

here are further suggestions:
---------------------------------------------
en1 dis <- recheck
en2 3550 5971 <- declare operational
en3 3550 6038 <- declare operational
en4 3575 5367 <- declare operational
en5 3600 3213 <- set to 3675

es1 3475 6278 <- declare operational
es2 3500 <- wait for re-production
es3 3600 2719 <- set to 3700
es4 3600 1243 <- disable

I think we shall also consider disabling some modules we are not going
to operate because
of multiple problems on them to keep the event size lower.
If you do not object I can set these changes today.

Concerning RB data in Ilia's first mail.
--------------------------------------------------------
> 40V (for ideal module) -> 65V (for EN3) -> E_d=-0.43 kV/cm
> 60V                              -> 85V                -> E_d=-0.57 kV/cm
> 80V                              -> 105V              -> E_d=-0.7 kV/cm

I see no much difference between them unless I do not know where to
look. What kind of other information shall we expect from this files?
Would we like to plot something like the step - function curve to
confirm the one from R&D?

Some other questions coming out of these studies.
I understand the suggestion is to go with the lowest, currently 40V
nominal. Is that so?
Shall we also look into 20V file? Do we see any module which is still
in FB regime when we set nominal RB20?

The rejection plot is very interesting. How high can we set the
threshold? that can be of a great importance to us very soon id DAQ
force us into zero suppression. On the other hand as it comes out
from Ilia's studies we are not loosing much setting (pad?) threshold
to 2e or 20adc_chan. I think (but not sure, I need takao's input) this
is higher than we have now.

best,
Sasha
