"I find that a great part of the information I have acquired was by looking up something and finding something else on the way."

Franklin P. Adams
American columnist and author

With more than 30,000 titles in its collection, the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) Office of Research, Development, and Technology in McLean, VA, is transforming its Technical Reference Center (TRC) into a full-service, knowledge hub with online access to public libraries across the globe. The TRC contains a collection of highway transportation and technology materials, furthering FHWA's commitment to preserve information and promote useful, targeted transportation products. This collection of resources enables researchers to share research knowledge, experience, lessons learned, and success stories.

Visit the Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center's (TFHRC) Web site library of current publications and research materials at http://www.tfhrc.gov/library/library.htm or go to the URL specified for the product you need. For other FHWA and USDOT publications, visit the OneDOT Online Publication catalog at http://isddc.dot.gov/, the USDOT Library at http://dotlibrary.dot.gov, or the National Transportation Library's Web site at http://ntl.bts.gov.

Paper copies of the reports listed below can be obtained from the National Technical Information Service (NTIS). In some cases, limited copies also are available from FHWA's Research and Technology Report Center. When ordering from NTIS, include the NTIS publication number and the publication title. You also may visit the NTIS Web site at www.ntis.gov to order publications online. Call NTIS for current prices. For customers outside the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the cost is usually double the listed price. Address requests to:
