The Statute for Offshore Islands Construction contains 20 articles and was promulgated by the President on 5 April 2000. This Statute is enacted with the goal of fostering offshore islands' construction, perfecting industrial development, maintaining natural ecological environment, preserving cultural features, improving life quality and enhancing resident's welfare.
