Riverside County, CA, Aug 19, 2008 - Emphasizing the importance of clean, renewable energy, Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (CA-45) today met with stakeholders at the forefront of local energy innovation and toured International Energy Solutions (IES) Corporation, a facility that recycles waste into power. Bono Mack, joined by U.S. Department of Commerce Director Fred Latuperissa and Hemet City Councilwoman Lori Van Arsdale, discussed energy needs in Riverside County and nationwide.

"Renewable energy will play a key role in our nation's energy future," said Bono Mack. "I applaud the efforts underway at IES to expand clean, alternative energy in our region.

"After seeing record-high energy costs this summer, it is clear that we need a comprehensive energy solution that will lower energy costs and reduce our dependence on foreign oil."

Bono Mack has consistently supported extending tax credits for renewable energy, in addition to increasing environmentally-sensitive oil exploration in ANWR, expanding advanced nuclear technology, improving the fuel efficiency of our vehicles and producing more energy-efficient buildings.

"As we move forward, it is important that we invest in new technologies that will make energy cleaner and more affordable as a part of a greater effort to increased needed American energy supply. I look forward to working with local leaders and with my colleagues in Congress to embrace the exciting potential of clean, alternative energy in our district and beyond."
