On April 24, U.S. Ambassador to Poland, Victor Ashe, visited Archbishop Michalik at the headquarters of the Polish Episcopate in Warsaw.  The Ambassador congratulated the Archbishop on his reelection as head of the Polish Bishops Conference.  Michalik described his priorities for the Episcopate, which include supporting the deepening of faith in the Polish Catholic Church.  Michalik pointed to the increase in the number of religious associations, charities, and Catholic schools as examples of the important role the Catholic Church continues to play in Polish society.  The Ambassador and the Archbishop also reflected on the legacy of Pope John Paul II.
