I am strongly opposed to the new rule allowing automated or prerecorded message telemarketing to my home. I find all phone solicitation invasive of my privacy and deeply offensive. In fact, rather than expand the existing loophole of allowing companies to call customers with which they have business relationships, I would strongly prefer to end all telemarketing calls. I therefore recommend closing this loophole rather than expanding it. It seems clear to me that the FTC and the FCC should recognize the desires of the 64 million Americans who have already elected to be listed on the national Do Not Call Registry. Isn't it already clear to anyone who cares, that the vast majority of us do not want telemarketing calls? What louder and more clear message does your agency require?
