Dear Sirs: Thank you for the opportunity to comment on the question of pricing of credit scores to individual consumers. We believe that the annual free credit report now mandated under FACTA should include the credit score, also for free, since the score is an automated derivation and is, for most intents and purposes, the actual "end product". Springboard has many years of experience in dealing with the impacts of credit scores on peoples' lives. Understanding how one's credit score is calculated is a great need on the part of the American public. Charging a fee for the credit score strikes us as contrary to the concept of consumer empowerment that the free annual credit report was supposed to expedite. To summarize, we recommend that FACTA regulations allow consumers to access their credit scores for FREE, along with their annual free credit reports from each bureau. Again, thanks for your consideration of these comments. Dianne Wilkman President/CEO Springboard Nonprofit Consumer Credit Management www.credit.org 800-947-3752, ext 702
