Procurement Opportunities in Europe/Eurasia with the European Bank for Reconstruction & Development

The European Bank for Reconstruction & Development (EBRD), owned by 61 countries and two intergovernmental institutions, was established in 1991 when communism was crumbling in central and eastern Europe and ex-Soviet countries needed support to nurture a new private sector in a democratic environment.  Today the EBRD uses the tools of investment to help build market economies and democracies in countries from central Europe to central Asia.

The EBRD’s financing activities generate many opportunities for suppliers, contractors and consultants worldwide.  The EBRD’s Procurement Policies and Rules are based on the fundamental principles of non-discrimination, fairness and transparency.  They are designed to promote efficiency and effectiveness and minimize risk in the implementation of the Bank's lending and investment operations.
