SPECIAL TOOLS / EQUIPMENT: 1. MEGGER INSULATION TESTER

 

PREREQUISITES / PRECAUTIONS: 1. NOTIFY CCB OF TASK TO BE PERFORMED.

2. COMPLETEN PROCEDURE SHEET AND ASSURE THAT EQUIPMENT IS PROPERLY TAGGED OUT.

TASK DESCRIPTION:

1. MEGGER THE MOTOR

Follow the meggering procedure IRA found in the Maintenance Procedure MP-D04-001.01-02a. A copy of this procedure can be acquired through Configuration Control, PABX 3-3133.

2. REMOVE BRUSHES FROM BRUSH RIGGING ASSEMBLY.(Insure brushes will not make contact with slip rings during M.C.E. testing)

3. REMOVE DIRT AND CARBON DUST FROM BRUSH HOLDERS.

4. DISCONNECT AND TAG THE MOTOR "SURGE" EQUIPMENT

5. M.C.E. TEST EACH MOTOR

6. RESTORE SYSTEM BACK TO SERVICES.

 

Take appropriate corrective action to report and repair any problems.

Record problems and corrective actions in MP2.

 

 

 

CLEAN EQUIPMENT AND SURROUNDING AREA.

 

Clean dust, oil, grease, water, etc., from the equipment and the surrounding area. Dispose of oil soaked rags, etc., properly.

 

 

RESTORE THE SYSTEM TO NORMAL STANDBY MODE.
