I believe that the ability to obtain at least one annual credit report free is of the utmost importance to all consumers. We have no idea what is in our reports until a problem occurs. If we are contemplating a large purchase (house) we should still be able to obtain a copy of our report free. However, if we wanted to receive more than one report, annually, then there should be a fee and something like $10.00 (that would cost $30.00 for all three major companies' reports) appears to be reasonable. It seems that as a consumer, we are the only ones who do not get easy access to 'our' credit report while every Tom, Dick and Harry company can request it on a moments notice. That seems highly unfair.
