Ferrite Number Predictions
for Stainless Steel Welds


Instructions: Type in the Stainless Steel Composition press 'Calculate'.

*NOTE: In the Function Model Minimum Concentration = 0.007 wt.%. If the input is below this limit, the program automatically assumes it to be equal to 0.007 wt.%. 

Limitations:

  • The function fit model is fair below 18 FN
  • Above 18 FN the function fit estimate may be better off then WRC-1988 interpolation
  • Minimum concentration for all the elements allowed are 0.007 wt.%. If it is below this limit, the program automatically assumes it to be equal to 0.007 wt.%.
  • Limits on CrEq and NiEq exisits in WRC-1988 interpolation, will be indicated on the graph
  • The calculation will output "not computed" for out-of-bound values
