Documentation of Training

Documentation for the online safety courses should be accomplished only after completion of all course modules for each course within the DOIU LMS system.

 

A Certificate of Completion is available upon successful course completion.  Printed certificates may be used at the local level to document your training and should be provided to your training/administrative officer.  Certificates can be printed through the DOI University LMS upon completion of the courses.

 

Additional Safety Training and Information

Additional information for employees, supervisors, training officers and field management on technical field safety courses, forecasting safety, health and environmental training, and composing individual development plans is available at the Office of Employee Development website: .

USGS 8-Hour Annual HAZWOPER Refresher Training Requirements (29 CFR 1910.120(e)(8) : (Annual requirement for those personnel working on hazardous waste sites)

 

Manager or CDSO to provide employees with the following instruction to supplement the online training:

1) Medical Surveillance program as outlined in 29 CFR 1910.120(f).

2) Names of personnel and alternates responsible for site safety and health

3) Job hazard assessments for the hazard waste site(s) including engineering controls and equipment on the site

4) Critique of incidents that have occurred in the past year that can serve as training examples of related work

5) Review PPE including how to wear, inspect, clean, limitations, and when to replace

DOI University courses: (2 Hours Required) USGS Safety and Occupational Health Program Overview Personal Protective Equipment
