Water Vapor

Temperature

Precipitation
Evolution of the atmosphere as simulated by a global atmospheric model developed at GFDL within the FMS framework. The resolution of the model is 2 degrees latitude by 2.5 degrees longitude, with 18 levels in the vertical. Observed sea surface temperatures and sea ice are specified as the lower boundary condition. The fields depicted are precipitation rate, vertically integrated water vapor, and temperature at 2m above the surface. The evolution covers one month with a temporal resolution of 3 hours. Boundary conditions correspond to April 1984.

Welcome to the new FMS webpage. Nearly all of the links from the old FMS webpage have been added to this one; if you don't find what you are looking for in the sidebar, try clicking on one of the headings at left. That will take you to the site index, which has a few additional links. Much of the out-of-date documentation, such as the calgary quickstart guide, has been left out until it is updated. To access the outdated documents, please see the old FMS webpage. The general policy and specification documents can be accessed in the site index.
