If the Fair Credit Reporting Act permits a fee, in order to obtain a complete credit report, including the score, then it's not free. You must know everything that is being reported about yourself to others. Don't call it free if in fact it is not. The credit reporting agencies make money on my credit history all year long year after year and should be required to provide a complete free report (everything that is being reported to others including the credit score) whenever I ask for it. If the FTC is going to allow a fee for the score it should be one dollar or less. This country really needs to do more about consumer protection, protect the little guy were the ones that don't have a room full of Lawyers lobbying for us. I doubt that one free complete credit report is going to cause much hardship to the credit reporting agencies, yet wrong information in an individuals credit history can do great harm. I hope The FTC Acts in favor of the little guy.
