1. Lesson from the attempts to ban telemarketing: removing from a list does not prevent you from being re-added to that same list when they buy your name again. ADDING your name to the Do Not Call list prevents calls. In the case of email, OPT-OUT is ineffective and usually a sign of a spammer who will see your OPT-OUT message and have confirmation that's a good email address. 2. Please do NOT go for email stamps. Although it might reduce the worst spam, my filters get that already. It will, however, reduce participation in email listserves and other email communications from legitimate people.
