Warden Notice 25/2007

10/19/2007

Following the tragic bombings in Karachi in the early hours of October 19 and during the subsequent days of mourning, we remind American citizens to maintain a high level of vigilance, to be aware of local events, and to continue to avoid large crowds and gatherings. Pockets of violence have been reported in Karachi, and the situation remains uncertain. Transportation shutdowns and large funeral processions may make movement difficult.

For the latest security information, Americans traveling abroad should regularly monitor the Department's Internet web site at http://travel.state.gov where the Worldwide Caution Public Announcement http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/pa/pa_1161.html and the Pakistan Consular Information Sheet http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_992.html and Travel Warning can be found.
