The NRCS Three Rivers RC&D worked with the City of Eagle Lake, Minnesota, and others to create an attractive, healthy, and functional alternative to a traditional city park garden. The rain garden they developed will help reduce nutrient and sediment runoff into lakes, streams, and the storm water system while establishing wildlife habitat and a beautiful, low maintenance landscape.

After six years, NRCS, neighbors, the City of Norwalk, Trout Unlimited, the Norwalk River Watershed Initiative, the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection, and other partners in the Silvermine Restoration Project have reason to celebrate now that their work is complete.

The NRCS Yukon Flats RC&D program has partnered with sponsor Philadelphia University to develop  ArcticWays.com -- a website dedicated to selling Native arts and crafts via the internet. For over a decade the NRCS Yukon Flats RC&D has worked toward using e-commerce to market and sell native arts & crafts has been in the Yukon Flats RC&D Plan for over a decade.  Now on-line, ArcticWays.com allows artists to sell their goods to the e-world.

Keys, III, Commissioner, Bureau of Reclamation, have signed a five-year memorandum of understanding (MOU) to accomplish efficient use and long-term sustainability of available water supplies for agricultural production, fish and wildlife protection, recreation and other beneficial uses.

NRCS, SARE, and Texas Tech University are teaming up to reduce agricultural water consumption across the Texas High Plains. Texas Tech University researcher Vivien Allen along with her management team and NRCS conservation agronomist Monty Dollar will be able to  demonstrate their water-conserving farming strategies in an effort to control the dropping water level in the Ogallala aquifer thanks to a $6.2 million State grant.
