Washington, DC – Congressman Loebsack recently completed a trip to Iraq with a bipartisan group of his colleagues.  During the visit, Congressman Loebsack had the honor of eating dinner with a number of servicemembers from Iowa, including Sgt. Scott Buss, a native of Hampton, Iowa.

“I have visited Iraq twice before, the best part of these trips is having the honor and opportunity to personally thank the brave and selfless men and women serving in our armed services,” said Congressman Loebsack.  “My priority is supporting our men and women in uniform, they and their families must be served by their country with the same dedication and honor with which they have served our nation.”

“I appreciate the time that the congressmen, the senators or anyone that comes from the state of Iowa, spends over here with the Soldiers,” said Sgt. Scott Buss, a native of Hampton, Iowa.  “It's a good morale booster.”

During dinner, Congressman Loebsack handed out calling cards to the soldiers so they can more easily speak with their loved ones back home.  He also brought out hats from the Cedar Rapids Kernels and some footballs signed by the University of Iowa football team.

The Congressman is expected to return home in the coming days.
