Mr. LaFontaine has over 19 years of experience in meteorology, research, and software development. His work includes analyses of MODIS, AMSR-E, and NCEP data and products for the NASA/MSFC VIS/IR Group and for the SPoRT project. He also served as a scientist and software developer for the NASA/MSFC airborne research instruments AMPR and C-STAR. He has particpated in 17 NASA field experiments. He was a software developer for NASA/MSFC WetNet Project and the NASA/MSFC DAAC, has done calibration and geophysical algorithm research and development, and assisted in precipitation validation for the first DMSP SSM/I (F-8). Software skills include FORTRAN-77, McIDAS, CSH, and some experience with IDL, C, HDF, and HTML.
Mr. LaFontaine is a member of the American Meteorological Society. He has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed papers, conference preprints, and posters.
