2007-03-22 - Aqua MODIS Instrument Update The Aqua spacecraft has been going through a series of Inclination-Adjust Maneuvers (IAM) to maintain the 1:30 P.M. – 1:45 P.M. equator-crossing time specification. Various considerations resulted in many of the IAM’s being delayed this Spring/2007. The schedule for the IAM’s starting in mid-March is shown below. Aqua maneuver #12 occurred on March 14. The sequence of maneuvers should be completed late April 2007. The maneuvers have been occurring at night and generally in Australia/Western Pacific area with about 40 minutes of lost science data. So far there have not been any complaints regarding any effects of the maneuvers on the content of the data products.

The issues surrounding the Terra Solid State Recorder (SSR) and the loss of Printed Wire Assemblies (PWA’s) are still unresolved. Perhaps these issues may be raised as part of the Core Mission Review Panel (CoMRP) deliberations that occur in conjunction with the Headquarters Senior Review Process described above.
