USGS, 50 Years in Menlo Park, CA Logo

More than 300 employees came to cool off and celebrate mid-summer and 50 years of USGS in Menlo Park, and bid farewell to Cynthia Ramseyer, secretary of the Earthquake Hazards Team.

The all-you-can-eat and "create your own sundae" ice cream social included bananas, lots of tasty toppings, hot fudge, and other goodies. Children from the USGS on-site daycare center "GeoKids" joined in the fun.

The free event was brought to employees by the MP/50 working group and the "Ghost of GEM (Geological Employees of Menlo Park). Many thanks to Mike Diggles, USGS Technical Reports, for sharing the photos with us.
