Agents encountered the 41-year-old suspect along with four other Mexican nationals at about 12:30 p.m. after an extensive search in a rugged, mountainous area about four miles north of the international border. After determining that the individuals were illegally in the country, agents transported them to a Border Patrol station for processing and detention. While processing the group of illegal aliens through the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System, agents discovered that the Los Angeles Police Department issued a felony homicide warrant for the suspect. The warrant was confirmed by LAPD and agents remanded the suspect to the San Diego Sheriff’s Department for further extradition to Los Angeles.
