2006-07-03 - MODIS Data Archve Transition The transitions of MODIS data archive and distribution and user support from the Goddard Earth Sciences (GES) DAAC to the MODIS Adaptive Processing System (MODAPS) as part of the NASA Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) evolution process is still going well. The transition will be completed by the end of FY2006. So far, all subscriptions for Aqua Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) Level 1 and Atmospheric data products that were being handled by the Goddard Earth Science (GES) Distributed Active Archive Center (DAAC) have been tested from the MODIS Adaptive Processing System (MODAPS) and data flows to satisfy these subscriptions have been started from MODAPS. Subscriptions are the mechanism by which users receive data on a regular basis based on established prior arrangements (rather than by ad hoc requests).
