Abstract	A new five volt instrumentation voltage regulator has been designed for automotive electronic systems. Very low quiescent current and low dropout voltage promises applications in standby systems, such as microprocessor memory supplies, while reverse battery protection and transient protection shields the regulator and load from the hazards of the automotive electrical environment.
