  • Nationwide in 2005, adult males (those 18 years of age and older) accounted for 84.3 percent of all males arrested for violent crimes.
  • Of the males arrested in 2005, juveniles (those under the age of 18) comprised 25.4 percent of those arrested for property crimes.
  • Juvenile males accounted for 50.2 percent of all males arrested for arson offenses, 27 percent of all males arrested for burglary, 25.7 percent of all males arrested for motor vehicle theft, and 24.3 percent of all males arrested for larceny-theft offenses. (Based on Table 39.)
  • Overall, males were arrested more often for drug abuse violations than for any other offense. Juvenile males comprised 10.7 percent of all male arrestees for these violations. (Based on Table 39.)
