The Bureau of Reclamation, Pacific Northwest Region, has a requirement for rockscaling and installing a protective structure to protect an existing building from future falling rocks at Hungry Horse Dam and Powerplant, Hungry Horse, Montana. The principle components of work to be performed for the rockscaling include: removing all loose material and rock from the entire left abutment groin area; scaling an approximately 22,000 square-foot area between the top of the dam (El. 3565.0') and the base of the control bay building (El. 3135.0'); removing all loose or detachable rock, soil, brush, and woody debris that create a dangerous situation to work, workers, or the public, and haul to a site specified in the contract. The principle components for the protective structure include: cleaning and preparing existing concrete surface of left abutment control bay building wall; injecting cracks on the left abutment control bay building wall with a polyurethane resin; furnishing and installing threaded anchor rods for attaching the protective structure to the existing left abutment control bay building wall; furnishing, installing, and painting structural steel members (i.e., wide flanges, tee beams, plates, bars), and rod ends, nuts, and washers for the protective structure; furnishing and installing a geocomposite sheet drain on the left abutment control bay building wall; and furnishing and installing pressure treated timbers for the protective structure. This requirement will be issued as a negotiated request for proposals, and specific evaluation factors for the project will be described in the solicitation. This requirement is set-aside for HUBZone small business concerns. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 238990 and the size standard is $14 million in gross annual receipts averaged over the previous three 1-year accounting periods. The estimated price range of the work is $100,000 to $250,000. An electronic copy of the solicitation, including drawings, will be available APPROXIMATELY March 16, 2009, at www.fedbizopps.gov.
