I think the maximum price for credit scores should be $5. If the CRAs want to charge more for an analysis of the data, that's fine, but the credit scores themselves should be available for $5 max. People can't dispute their scores, only the data on their reports. The scores require very little work on the CRA's part. The price should reflect that. If no cap is put in place, I fear that the CRAs might increase the score prices threefold simply to make up for lost revenue from selling the credit reports. They make tons of money selling our data, if we must pay for our score, $5 seems like the uppermost I would want to pay without feeling ripped off.
