The efforts for NGO in China on AIDS prevention and control.

Issues: It was thought that almost activities or events on AIDS of prevention and control in China are organized by the government. Actually, NGOs with their widespread efforts in China play a very important role in the field of AIDS prevention, the same as other many countries. To introduce the efforts involved by NGOs in China is to have NGO of China known much more. Description: Over past of few years, Beijing Association as an activated NGO in China which was funded in 1993 has made a great deal of efforts in this field. The paper will specify a series of efforts they have been involved of training course, counseling, hotline in publics, health education among migration who moves from countryside to city. At present the efforts has been developed to high risky group, target group. Also Beijing Association involved of the promotion of condom use among the college students. The paper will be based on the personal experience over 6 years as one of NGO members working in Beijing Association of STD/AIDS Prevention and Control, P.R. China. Conclusions: NGOs working in this field take a great deal of advantages to organize effective events against AIDS. The aim of Beijing Association to help the government mobilize the whole society to be involved of the movement on AIDS prevention is becoming true. It well works with its advantages in the field of which is not easy access to the government. The paper will indicate the facts of the feature of NGOs in China.
