The Federal Constitutional Law "On the court system of the Russian Federation" is the state of Law which was adopted on the 31 December 1996 to execute and develop the positions of the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
     The act of law consists of 5 chapters:
     General positions;
     Fundamentals of status of a Judge in the Russian Federation;
     Courts;
     Final positions;
     The procedure of enactment of the present Federal Constitutional Law.
     The Law determines that the judicial authority in the Russian Federation is to be executed only by courts. Any other bodies and persons have no right for realization of justice. Also independence of judicial authority is adjusted normatively.
     It is specified, that the judicial authority is carried out by means of the constitutional, civil, administrative and criminal legal proceedings.
     The Law contains the exhaustive list of the courts working in the Russian Federation, namely: federal courts, the constitutional (authorized) courts and justices of the peace of subjects of the Russian Federation.
     The law defines, that the decisions which have entered validity, lawful directions, requirements, assignments, summons and other references are obligatory for all without exception and are subject to strict execution in all territory of the Russian Federation.
     It is established, that trials in all courts are public. Hearing of a case in a private meeting is supposed in the cases stipulated by the federal law.
     The Law establishes the order and conditions of appointing and activity of judges. It is established irremovability and inviolability of judges, contains the order of creation and abolition of courts of various levels.
     Besides the Law contains the positions regulating maintenance of activity of judges, including financial maintenance.
     The Law also defines the order of enactment of its positions.
