I can only say that every merchant that I buy something from has become, in that purchase, a welcome caller to my phone number. The United States is alreadyutterly inundated with advertising. When a person's phone rings, there should not be a salesman, OR a recording of a salesman, on the other end of the line. I can choose what tv commericals I wish to watch. It takes little effort to turn a channel from a remote. I expect televison to sell me things. But I absolutely do NOT expect to be peddled wares over the phone lines. Please say NO to this loophole that only opens the way to more calls. For God's sake, let's have a little sanctity of the privavcy of one's own home and one's own phoneline. Please. Bob Supan
