Abstract:
|
The first section provides a general discussion of funding types, positions available, personnel practices, employment benefits, general employment qualifications, and clarifications of criminal investigator, general investigator, and uniformed police positions. The second section is devoted exclusively to the Department of Justice, which adjudicates, litigates, and prosecutes all Federal criminal and civil cases regardless of the Federal agency involved. The third section contains photographs of the badges used by Federal agencies. The final section includes alphabetically arranged profiles of 61 Federal police and investigative agencies. Each agency profile provides information on its history, organizational structure, agency authority and responsibilities, personnel qualifications and strengths, prosecutive cases, and headquarters and regional office addresses. Appendixes include several examples of addresses. Appendixes include several examples of training requirements, examples of the two most important personnel forms, and the salary schedule for fiscal 1984.
