The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with King Nutronics Corporation, 6421 Independence Ave., Woodland Hills, CA 91367, for the procurement of one (1)3674-A Barometer Calibration Standard. The Barometer Calibration Standard is part of 3671-A Aneroid Barometric Calibration System currently used by the Navy. It is a direct reading precision standard used to calibrate precision and aneroid barometers and provides indications in inches of mercury, millibars, psia, millimeters-of-mercury, kilograms-per-square-centimeter, kilopascals, and feet of altitude. The calibration standard is used as a higher accuracy level (4:1 test accuracy ratio) standard for precision calibration of test sets, barometers and aneroid barometers. NAWCADLKE intends to procure under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c) (1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. King Nutronics Corp is the original equipment manufacturer for model numbers 3674A and 3671A. As such, they can guarantee the equipment meets the original technical specifications for which the calibration support procedures were written. This synopsis is not a request for competitive proposals. Companies interested in providing an offer must be able to demonstrate in writing, by 19 June 2008, their capability to provide this equipment. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
