The Chicago Regulatory Audit Field Office, which includes branch offices in Denver and Minneapolis, is responsible for auditing a wide range of importers that are located throughout the central United States. In addition to a major emphasis on the Focused Assessment Program, the Chicago office also conducts audits involving airline user fees, prior disclosures, trade fraud, and agriculture. The office has also been instrumental in leading the development and enhancement of the user fee audit process for airline user fees assessed by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service.
