USAID joins the Municipality of Gazi Baba and the “Dane Krapcev” primary school in renovating the school building
April 23, 2008
The American people, through the USAID Primary Education Project are investing $3 million in school renovations across Macedonia. The “Dane Krapcev” school in Gazi Baba is one of the recipients of this assistance. On April 23rd, the Mayor of Gazi Baba Koce Krajanovski, U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Officer Ryan Rowlands and school Principal Blagica Stankovska joined teachers and students of the “Dane Krapcev” school to celebrate the installation of new energy efficient windows and doors.
“Children are our future, and the best gifts we can give them are a good education, and a clean healthy environment. This project targets both of these important goals,” said U.S. Public Affairs Officer Ryan Rowlands.
“Our students now have the learning environment they deserve. As many times before, we couldn’t imagine implementing this project without the support of the American people and USAID, who invest in the most crucial needs of the society,” commented Mayor Trajanovski.
The renovation component of the USAID Primary Education Project supports the creation of better learning environments and decentralization of school facilities to municipal governments. The project also works to increase the access and use of information technology and to improve the quality of math and science education in Macedonian primary schools.
